IWe are building infrastructure to dissolve information asymmetry: the gap that opens whenever one party knows something another would benefit from, and the two never connect. It is an old, almost invisible problem, and it quietly wastes an enormous amount of the world's effort.
It is the largest economy nobody can see: the things that were never made.
IIThe shape is always the same. Both sides would be better off after the exchange, and yet the exchange simply never happens. Do not take my word for it. Play it.
IIIThe intuitive answer is that people can't find each other. That is downstream of something sharper. Two forces hold these exchanges shut, and most people conflate them.
To go looking, you must describe what you are working on, and for a company, a fund, or a lab, that description is exactly the thing they cannot afford to reveal. Your query is your position. So the rational move is not to look, and the match dies before anyone goes looking.
To prove that what you know is worth paying for, you typically have to show it, and once you have shown it, the other side no longer needs to buy it. So even when two parties find each other, the more valuable the secret, the less either can afford to show their hand first. Everyone stays quiet.
This is why the obvious fixes fail. A public registry only helps the holder who doesn't mind revealing, and the moment they mind, nobody posts, because posting is the leak. Encryption secures an exchange once both parties have already found each other. Neither helps anyone discover the trade was possible. The hard part was never securing the exchange. It was finding it without anyone exposing themselves to look.
IVWe build models of institutions: simulations of what an organization likely holds, lacks, and would trade, inferred from everything it already reveals in public. What it publishes, what it builds, what it hires for, where it is clearly investing. From that exhaust you can form a surprisingly specific hypothesis about what a lab is bottlenecked on, or what a company is sitting on and not using.
Inside that model, agents run the exchanges privately. They search the network for pairs that fit, price and negotiate the promising ones, and explore every version of a deal without any real position being placed at risk. Only the matches that leave both sides genuinely better off are ever surfaced to the people involved. Everything else dissolves, and neither party need ever know a search took place.
A human broker can hold maybe a dozen relationships in their head, and must be told everyone's secrets to work. Agents search thousands of possible matches at once, over what can be inferred, not deposited. The secret moves only at the very end, inside a deal both sides have already agreed to, never as the price of finding out a deal exists.
VWe do not try to dissolve every asymmetry, because some shouldn't be and structurally can't be. Some information is leverage, held precisely because the other side not knowing is your advantage. A reservation price. A flaw hidden in a deal. The cards you hold where the other party's loss is your gain.
There is no honest technology that makes those exchanges happen, and any company claiming otherwise is selling something. A faithful agent working for someone who benefits from the gap will, correctly, protect the gap.
VIMost of the value in the world is the value that was never created. The work done twice, the discovery reached alone, the help that never arrived.
